Former US President Donald Trump said that today (Thursday) he made a “special statement” through an unusual video on his TRUTH social network account.
In the video, Trump is seen in Superman clothes, with lasers in his eyes and says that “America needs a superhero” and at the end it is written that he made a special announcement today.
It is hard to guess what the announcement in question will be, since he already revealed the main news, the fact that he intends to run for another term, last November.
There are those who estimate that Trump will announce his return to Twitter, after receiving a “pardon” from the new owner Elon Musk. Others are talking about Trump possibly announcing his vice presidential nominee today.
Among the candidates already thrown into the air is Marjorie Taylor Green, a fan of conspiracy theories and an outspoken anti-Semitic.
Trump has failed to generate as much media interest in his candidacy as he did in the 2015/16 race, and many Republicans are distancing themselves from him, thinking he is already a burden on the party.
Most of the “Trumpist” candidates lost in the midterm elections, and the one seen as Trump’s main competitor in 2024, Florida Governor Ron de Santis, is only getting stronger.
According to a recent poll, de Santis leads Trump by no less than 23%, and this is even before he officially announced his candidacy.
Trump seems to be trying to find any way to put himself back on center stage, and to be the main show again.
