With fog, relegation and emotions until the end, Chapecoense and Brusque drew 1-1 on Sunday night in Serie B of the Brazilian Championship. Ólávio opened the scoring for Brusque, who played with one less for much of the second half. With the numerical advantage, Chapecoense looked for an equalizer with Bruno Leonardo, approaching the end. The game, which is valid for the 15th round, was held at Arena Condá, in Chapecó (SC).
The game started about 45 minutes late due to heavy fog in the area. Despite being slightly stronger again for a few minutes, the match was not stopped.
With the draw, Chapecoense now has 18 points, in 15th place. CRB is the one who opens the relegation zone, with 16. Brusque remains in Z-4, in 18th place with 14 points. Despite being unbeaten for six games, they recorded their fifth straight draw.
Brusque’s first dangerous move came from Paulinho Moccelin, who shot from outside the area, but went wide. Chapecoense responded with a dead ball. Habraão finished the free kick and was in danger.
Brusque continued to create more danger and almost opened the scoring with a shot from Dentinho inside the area. The ball went under the goalkeeper, but Habraão practically saved it on the line.
At 33, Brusque managed to score the goal with Lávio. He received the ball on the right side of the area and shot hard and high to score a beautiful goal, with no chance of defense for Matheus Cavichioli.
Chapecoense had changes at half-time and came back more aggressive and fearless with a header from Tárik and a shot from Marcinho. After that, Marcinho had another chance with a high shot, but Matheus Nogueira saved Brusque with a great save.
In the 13th minute, the situation changed for Brusque as Dentinho received a second yellow card. From then on, Chapecoense began to press hard in search of a draw. Mancha crossed strangely and almost deceived the goalkeeper. In another move, the ball was raised and ended up in the small area. Habraão kicked, but Matheus Nogueira blocked it and Brusque saved again.
But Chapecoense’s pressure paid off and the equalizer came in the 39th minute. After a corner, the defender kicked the ball into the air, still in the area. Matheus Nogueira was unsure and Bruno Leonardo managed to head the goalkeeper to score. Chapecoense still tried to look for a win, but failed to score another goal.
The first to return to the field for the 16th round is Chapecoense, who visit Novorizontino on Thursday, at 9pm, at Jorge Ismael de Biasi, in Novo Horizonte (MG). The following Sunday, at 6:30 pm, Brusque also plays away, against Botafogo-SP, at the Santa Cruz stadium, in Ribeirão Preto (SP).
