In the first week of Desenrola, Caixa already received R$ 54.3 million referring to the renegotiation of 11,405 credit agreements from 9,254 customers, according to the balance sheet released by the public bank this Friday, the 21st.

This Friday, Caixa opened all its physical branches one hour earlier for a debt renegotiation effort both in Desenrola and in its own campaign. The so-called Development Day had another 5,333 renegotiations worth R$ 13.8 million, according to the bank. The number of customers was 30% higher than the average for the week.

In this case, the effectiveness of the renegotiations and the agreed amounts depends on the payment of the invoice for each contract.

“Today, we are carrying out deeply important actions for our customers. We are giving families the possibility of resuming consumer credit”, says in a note the president of Caixa, Rita Serrano. She accompanied the bank’s action at a branch in Brasília.

Still according to the bank, with Desenrola, the demand for information on debt renegotiation on the Caixa website jumped from 69 thousand to more than 1 million hits a day.

In the first phase of Desenrola, which started in the second, banks can renegotiate the debts of customers with monthly income between two minimum wages and R$ 20,000, and earn tax credits equal to the discounts they grant. In addition, the names of customers who owe up to R$ 100 can be removed from restrictive registrations, but the debts are not forgiven.

Caixa also extended the renegotiation period offered in Desenrola, from 96 to 120 months.
