This Monday (5), the campaign “Your Hug Warms – Donate warmth and do good” reached its final stretch with the delivery of donations to 245 registered entities. The campaign collected a total of 127,579 items, including blankets, warm clothes, clothing for adults and children, as well as other items.

The withdrawal of donations took place this morning (5), at the Arquiteto Rubens Gil de Camillo Convention Center, in Parque dos Poderes. With the help of several people, the sorting was carried out efficiently, allowing the quick distribution of donations to institutions and NGOs, which are responsible for helping those in need.

The campaign, an initiative of the State Government in partnership with SAD (Secretary of State for Administration), had the initial objective of collecting clothes and blankets from state employees for distribution to people in vulnerable situations.

However, the action gained great proportion when it received the support of educational institutions, churches, Famasul (Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of MS), Fiems (Federation of Industries of the State of MS), Sebrae (Brazilian Service of Support to Micro and Small Company) and other entities.

The president of the Association of Residents of Vila Adelina, Vila Maciel and Jardim Colonial, Evódio Roberto Ferro da Costa, emphasized that the campaign is lasting. “We have maintained this partnership for 9 years, helping families to keep warm during the winter”, he explains.

The representative of the Grupo Espírita da Prece, located on Avenida Tiradentes, Eliana Regasso, highlighted the importance of the action for needy people who attend the institution. “We serve needy families and homeless people. I think this action through the entities is very useful because they know the difficulties and shortcomings of the community.”

The first lady and godmother of the campaign, Mônica Riedel, was also present at the Arquiteto Rubens Gil de Camillo Convention Center, to accompany the collection of collected items. “The objective was reached, the donations went far beyond what we expected, and we will serve more institutions”, reported Mônica.
