/ The Syrian Center for Human Rights revealed, on Friday, that 12 prisoners of ISIS leaders escaped from a prison in the Afrin countryside, indicating that the escape occurred with the complicity of members of the military police.

The Observatory said in news followed by Agency, “12 prisoners of ISIS members and leaders were able to escape from a prison supervised by the military police of the Turkish forces in the Bulbul district in the Afrin countryside within the Olive Branch area, with the complicity and direct cooperation of the military police members and leaders.” “.

According to activists of the Syrian Observatory, after the military police were exposed, and to cover up the smuggling operation, they arrested two of the fugitives, while the rest of the fugitives, who were leaders and members of the “organization,” still do not know who they are.

The areas under the control of the Turkish forces in the “Euphrates Shield”, “Olive Branch” and “Peace Spring” areas include leaders of ISIS, as these areas are considered a safe environment for them.

This incident is not the first of its kind. At the beginning of last year, sources of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that about 20 ISIS members were able to escape from Rajo prison, north of Aleppo, which is known as the notorious “Black Prison,” with the complicity of prison officials.

According to the sources of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, those who were smuggled out of Raju prison were only ISIS members, with the direct complicity of prison officials, in exchange for sums of money that ranged between 1,000 and 3,000 US dollars for each individual, while some paid sums of money that amounted to 10 thousand US dollars until they were able to escape.

The prison includes dozens of citizens from the Afrin region who were arrested on charges of dealing with the Kurdish forces, and the prison is located close to the Turkish-Syrian border.

It should be noted that the process of smuggling prisoners is carried out by a leader from the organization who holds Algerian nationality, who is responsible for the organization’s prisoner file in the “Euphrates Shield” and “Olive Branch” areas, in exchange for huge sums of money.
