With the INE resolution, “Alito” must leave the PRI leadership, they say

The former national leader of the PRI, Enrique Ochoawarned that with the resolution of the National Electoral Institute (INE) on the statutes of the tricolor, Alejandro Moreno will cease to be a leader immediately.

When asked by 24 Horas, he explained that the electoral advisers of the institute’s forecast that they are unable to validate the statutory changes, which are being discussed at the General Council session, will imply the invalidation of the statutes and the position of “Alito.”

“The party has violated the Constitution, the law or the statutes and the INE determines that it is prevented from validating these statutes, because there was a normative violation and that legal, technical definition of declaring itself prevented means that the statutory changes are not valid and, therefore, all the consequent legal acts are null and void.

“The INE would correctly declare itself unable to validate the statutes and therefore all statutory changes would have no value and he would cease to be the party president,” he said.

Ochoa said that Moreno will have no legal grounds to “play dumb” and remain in office, so if the INE declares itself unable to validate the PRI statutes, “Alito” will have no other option but to leave office.

“In electoral matters there are no suspensive effects, that is to say, his going to the Electoral Court does not suspend the effects of the INE resolution, he cannot continue being president while the trial is taking place, because as there are no suspensive effects, what remains firm is the INE resolution of today, for that reason he would not have any legal argument to extend his mandate, which is clearly illegal,” he said.

He explained that if this scenario is confirmed, the PRI will have to convene a National Political Council to name an interim president and call for a new process in which no former president will participate.
