Environmental sanitation teams in all coastal municipalities have begun collecting and analyzing seawater samples at summer beaches for the 2024 season, in order to determine what is suitable for swimming and distinguish what is not suitable with warning signs.
Director General of the General Department of Environmental Sanitation Affairs, Ibrahim bin Dakhil, said that the administration had taken a series of measures that preceded this step and that it had taken in the context of implementing this project in accordance with the established framework for organizing these works and in accordance with the required stages.
Bin Dakhil stated that the project went through several stages, including the process of collecting information, previous documents, specifications and previous decisions, identifying resorts, using the system, forming sampling teams and laboratories, and providing the required materials, according to him.
Bin Dakhil explained that the analysis of the first samples will be followed by analyzes of other samples two weeks after the date of the first drawing, with confirmatory reference analyzes being conducted in neutral laboratories that do not follow environmental sanitation, until the final results regarding determining whether beaches are suitable for swimming or not are reached, according to him. .
