Complicated start to the weekend for Raúl Fernández in Germany, who saw a crash in the second practice session of the day prevent him from continuing to work on his bike. The man from Madrid has assured that the new program of each Grand Prix plays especially against himespecially for not being able to develop his bike for the rest of the sessions.

The RNF Racing driver admitted he was happy to be able to save as much as he could on Friday after missing a large part of training in the pits due to his crash in Practice 2. The Spaniard finished more than 1.4 seconds behind Bezzecchi, although he expects to be able to get close to the leading drivers: “The first practice was too difficult to manage in the rain. We spent at least 20 minutes in the box and we didn’t have time to prepare. In practice 2 it rained a bit, but I don’t know what happened. I touched the white line, lost the bike and found myself in the grass”.

“When I tried to time attack”continues Raúl, “I was calm because I had not tried the other motorcycle, that’s why I only thought about closing the loop without doing stupid thingsalso because I saw that it was starting to rain a little”.

As the Spanish rider has indicated, all this was especially due to the fact that the white line that limits the edges of the track was still wet, something that made him lose control of his motorcycle: “I haven’t made any strange moves. I touched the white line, but the bike was still not more or less straight, I lost it and fellYo. It will surely be because it was wet from the rain. I haven’t seen the data yet, because the bike hadn’t returned to the pits”.

Miguel Oliveira’s teammate has indicated that it is impossible to work on the set-up of the bike with the new plan for the weekend, where they do not have enough time to continue developing the RS-GP, so they will go to blinds in the race: “The hand is quite good, but now it is difficult. We are in a complicated situation. It’s been crazy. With this schedule we don’t have much time to prepare. There is no time and when there are days like this it is impossible to work on the bike. What can we do if we have to stay still in the box? We’ll see what happens in the sprint race tomorrow, since no one has tested the tires and what we can do in the feature race”.

Finally, the Spaniard has indicated that he is confident for the rest of the weekend, where he assures that he has against him not being able to ride what he would like on a circuit like the Sachsenring: It is difficult to manage this situation. It’s the same for everyone but I think it’s more difficult in our case, because we can’t do a lot when we don’t have time to prepare anything. Between the rain and the mistake, I think we’ll pull through. I’ve done about 20 laps all day and on a track like this they’re nothing. It is the shortest track in the championship. In any case, we will try to do something good tomorrow, I hope the weather improves”, cRaúl Fernández included.
