The new chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), the designated capital market regulatory body appointed by the Interim Government Advisory Council. BSEC Officers Welfare Association has withdrawn the complaint against M Masroor Riaz.

This information was given in a circular issued by the BSEC Officers Welfare Association on Thursday (August 15).

It is mentioned in the circular that on Tuesday (13 August) regarding the appointment of the chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission, we 6 members have no disagreement with the letter sent to the Financial Institutions Department of the Ministry of Finance based on the decision of the majority of the members in the discussion meeting of the general members of the BSEC Officers Welfare Association. .

We 6 members filed a protest letter last Wednesday (August 14) due to conceptual error. Realizing our mistake, we withdrew the protest letter.

In signing the statement regarding the withdrawal of the protest letter, the general secretary of the association Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman and the vice-president Md. Farooq Hossain, co-general secretary. Sahidul Islam, Treasurer Muhammad Hemayet Hossain, Executive Member Mahmuda Shirin and Executive Member AKM Farooq Alam.

Before this, the President of BSEC Officers Welfare Association sent to the Secretary of Financial Institutions Department of the Finance Ministry. The letter signed by Saifur Rahman mentions that there has been a discussion meeting with the general members of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission Officer Welfare Association regarding the newly appointed BSEC chairman. The decision was made at the meeting – Tuesday (August 13) through the notification issued by the Financial Institutions Department, Dr. M Mashroor Riaz has been appointed by the government as the chairman of the capital market regulatory body Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC). Already viral in various social and electronic media, she was involved with Salman F Rahman. Besides, according to social media information, he is also close to outgoing chairman Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam. It was unanimously decided in the meeting that the staff of the Commission will not welcome any controversial person close to the newly departed government and the recently departed Chairman to join the Commission as Chairman.

However, the BSEC Officers Welfare Association withdrew it on the third day of sending the protest letter.
