According to US media reports, “McDonald’s Russia” plans to reopen its restaurant in Pushkin Square on June 12. It was its first location in Russia, opened in 1990 and became a symbol of flourishing American capitalism with the collapse of the Soviet Union.

The Chicago-based company, which until recently owned 84% of its stores in Russia, said its restaurants there and in Ukraine contributed 9% of its annual revenue, or about $ 2 billion (£ 1.6 billion).
