Without Azerbaijan, Europe will not be able to achieve energy independence – Viktor Orban

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Friday, October 6, that Azerbaijan is a strategically important country for protecting the energy independence of the European Union (EU).

As Day.Az reports, Viktor Orban said this while answering questions from journalists before an informal meeting of EU leaders in Granada, Spain.

The Prime Minister of Hungary, in particular, emphasized: “Azerbaijan is a key country, without which we cannot achieve energy independence.”

According to him, without gas supplies from Azerbaijan, the European Union will not be able to reduce dependence on the Russian energy system.
