The governor of Mato Grosso do Sul, Eduardo Riedel (PSDB), travels this Wednesday (25) to New York, in the United States. He is accompanied by Jaime Verruck, the head of Semadesc (Secretariat of Environment, Development, Science, Technology and Innovation), and will remain there until Friday (27).
The official trip schedule has not yet been released. Even though it is not mandatory to report an absence in the country that lasts less than 15 days, the Legislative Assembly was notified in advance about the three-day trip of the head of the Executive, according to the president of the house, Gerson Claro (PP).
The deputy did not reveal the reason for Riedel and the secretary’s visit to New York. He said he would not announce “the good news” that will come from American lands. Also questioned, the deputy leader of the government in the Assembly, Pedro Pedrossian Neto (PSD), said he did not know details about the international agenda.
A decree was published in this Wednesday’s edition of the Official State Gazette to inform Verruck’s absence to accompany the governor. Unlike what is standard, the reason for the trip was not specified in the official text.
Today, the advisory informed the Campo Grande News that “the objective of the trip is to continue discussions with North American businesspeople and investors about new investments for Mato Grosso do Sul”, without further details.
Around the world – It is the third time that the governor and secretary have traveled to the United States since the beginning of their term. The first was in July, when he discussed the topic of green economy at the International Program for Public Leaders in Green Economy at Stanford University, in California. The second was at the end of August, to participate in the Lide Brazil Development forum, in Washington.
Together, Riedel and Verruck also completed an agenda in Argentina, Chile and Paraguay throughout the year to address the integration of the countries with the construction of the Bioceanic Route.
Decree also published this Wednesday formalizes the Semadesc holder’s trip to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from November 30th to December 5th, to participate in the 28th COP (United Nations Conference on Climate Change). The governor’s presence at the same event has not yet been confirmed by the press office.
