Kochi: The witness examination of Manju Warrier in the actress assault case has been completed. The procedure was completed in two days. Now there are three witnesses to be examined.

Manju Warrier was asked to appear on the 16th for the hearing, but when Dileep approached the Supreme Court, the hearing was postponed. Dileep’s demand was to prevent the re-examination of Manju and others. But the court rejected the demand and allowed to interrogate Manju Warrier.

The Supreme Court has clarified that it will not interfere with the prosecution’s decision to re-examine the four witnesses. The prosecution approached the trial court seeking re-examination of Manju Warrier to identify the voices of Dileep and his brother in the audio clips produced by Balachandra Kumar, the main witness in the case.

The High Court directed to ensure that the first accused in the case, Pulsar Suni, is produced in person during the trial. The order of the court is to bring Suni, who is in Ernakulam sub-jail, for trial through video conferencing. The order allowed Suni’s petition requesting that he be directed to appear directly in the court during the trial. The prosecution also did not oppose the direct production of the accused.
