“Saturday flights are cancelled. According to the plan, the next flights of the “Wizzair” company from Vilnius to Tel Aviv are scheduled for August 6 and 7. The airline has not announced anything about them yet,” M. Zelenius told the Elta news agency on Saturday.

According to him, 172 passengers were supposed to leave for Tel Aviv today, and 170 were supposed to return to Vilnius on the evening flight. The representative of LTOU also notes that the company did not specify the reason for the cancellation of the flights.

Currently, flights to Tel Aviv from Lithuania take place only from Vilnius, passengers are flown in this direction only by Wizzair airlines, reports LTOU.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on Saturday called on Lithuanian citizens in Israel to leave the country as soon as possible due to the growing tension in the Middle East. As announced in the press release of the ministry, more and more flights to the country are being canceled or temporarily suspended and opportunities to leave the country by commercial flights are decreasing.

According to mobile operator data, there are currently 212 Lithuanian operator cards in Israel, 43 in Lebanon, the National Crisis Management Center (NKVC) reports.

It is reminded that Lithuanian citizens currently in Israel are requested to register immediately by filling out the travel registration form so that the authorities can contact these persons for consular assistance if necessary.

Earlier on Friday, a spokesman for the Polish airline LOT announced that the company had canceled eight flights from Warsaw to Lebanon and Israel, including return flights, after analyzing the security situation.
