Wladimir Klitschko Files Petition to Protect Daughter’s Estate

Wladimir Klitschko has filed an urgent Los Angeles court petition to secure temporary guardianship over his 11-year-old daughter Kaya’s estate. Citing missing jewelry, federal property seizures, and unauthorized access to the late Hayden Panettiere’s home, the former boxing champion aims to protect the child’s inheritance as sole heir.

Wladimir Klitschko Seeks Temporary Guardianship in Los Angeles Court

Wladimir Klitschko has asked a Los Angeles County probate court for immediate temporary guardianship of his 11-year-old daughter Kaya’s estate. Klitschko, a Ukrainian former world champion boxer who shares full custody of Kaya and raises her in Ukraine, filed the legal paperwork to safeguard her status as the sole beneficiary of Panettiere’s reported $6 million estate following the actress’s death on August 16 at age 36.

The petition emphasizes that Kaya is entitled to the entirety of her late mother’s assets. Because Panettiere died intestate in California, the court retains jurisdiction over the probate administration despite Kaya residing abroad with her father.

Security Concerns and Missing Property Cited in Court Filings

The six-page court filing details a chaotic scramble to secure the late actress’s personal belongings amid federal investigations and security breaches. Klitschko’s legal team stated that federal agents accessed Panettiere’s Los Angeles residence and removed property connected to an ongoing investigation into her overdose death. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office determined that Panettiere died from the toxic effects of multiple drugs, including fentanyl, alprazolam, methocarbamol, and quetiapine.

Before her death, Panettiere and Klitschko had hired a private security service to protect her home after an unidentified individual gained unauthorized access to the property. Locks were subsequently changed, and storage units holding designer clothing and public-appearance accessories were relocated as precautions.

“It is expected that the individual will continue to try and misappropriate property belonging to Hayden’s Estate. Given the high publicity of Hayden’s Estate, a personal representative needs to be appointed immediately to safeguard and protect Hayden’s Home and contents.”

The petition further alleges that non-family members accessed and destroyed Panettiere’s emails, and notes that personal items including jewelry have disappeared or remain unaccounted for, with some pieces currently held by law enforcement.

Legal Standing and Upcoming Probate Court Hearings

The primary goal of Klitschko’s emergency petition is to gain the legal standing required to formally open probate proceedings and nominate an administrator for the estate. Without an immediate appointment, the filing warns, there is a high probability that property belonging to the estate may be lost, damaged, or dissipated before a permanent representative steps in.

The estate disputes run parallel to tensions among Panettiere’s surviving family members.
