The incident in which two thirteen year old boys were trapped in an electric fence guarding an elephant was reported this afternoon (12).
The incident took place at Tennathoppu, a backward area called Pattampitiya in the village of Neynakadu in the Sammanthurai Divisional Secretariat and Sammanthurai Police Division.
Riyaz Mohammad Aseek (13 years old) and Muhammad Ibrahim (13 years old) were killed when they went to collect firewood as usual in the coconut grove.
Sammanthurai police rushed to the spot and are conducting further investigations.
