The former Trigema boss is known for his strong words. Now Wolfgang Grupp has criticized the federal government.

The former head of the textile company Trigema, Wolfgang Grupp, has sharply criticized the federal government and called for new elections. “The government must go,” said Grupp at an event organized by the media portal “The Pioneer.” Grupp primarily blamed the FDP. He said he did not understand why party leader Christian Lindner did not leave the government.

Grupp believes that the FDP will gain votes again if it leaves the coalition and new elections are held. The current traffic light coalition is a government “that nobody wants”. If the government continues to consist of “chair-stickers”, it will lead to further unrest and protest voters, says the entrepreneur.

The 82-year-old Grupp was the owner of Trigema from 1972 to 2023. Since 2024, his two children have been managing the company together with his wife.
