- A diamond-encrusted Rolex watch was missing from the victim’s home.
Nancy Pexton, 69, has been charged with the murder of her sister, Jennifer Abbott, who was found stabbed in her Camden home. The discovery was made after family hadn’t heard from her in days.
In a brief hearing at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court, Pexton confirmed her name and birthdate. Abbott, also known as Sarah Steinberg, was found dead at her flat in Camden last Friday. Her niece and neighbors discovered her after her family hadn’t heard from her for several days.
A post-mortem examination revealed the cause of death as sharp force trauma.

It’s understood Pexton is nine months younger than Abbott. The neighbors described Abbott as “exuberant” and “vivacious,” often seen walking her corgi. One neighbor added, “She used to walk the dog every couple of days. She kept herself to herself, she wasn’t too sociable but kind, polite and well-mannered.”
The corgi had been locked in the bathroom for three days before Abbott was found, but survived.

The Metropolitan Police previously stated that they were investigating a possible link between Abbott’s death and a missing diamond-encrusted Rolex from her home.
At the hearing, Pexton was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on June 24.
