Woman, aged 57, in critical state after drowning at Bat Yam’s surfers’ beach

A woman aged 57 was rescued from the surfers’ beach in Bat Yam in critical condition after drowning. The medics and paramedics of MDA gave her initial medical treatment and performed CPR. The medics parked their motorcycles on the boardwalk and rushed to the waterfront with medical equipment. The witnesses present at the location informed them that the woman was pulled from the water and was unconscious without a pulse and breathing. A tourist from France, who is a doctor, was present at the beach and started basic resuscitation treatment on her. The medics continued the advanced resuscitation process which contained breathing, massages, and medication administration. The patient was later transferred, as CPR was being carried out to the intensive care unit of MDA for further treatment in a hospital. The patient’s condition is considered critical.

The medics from the MDA motorcycle unit said: “We parked the motorcycles on the boardwalk and quickly went down to the waterfront with all the medical equipment. Citizens who were there told us that they saw the woman in the water and pulled her to the shore when she was unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing. A tourist from France, a doctor by training, who happened to be on the beach started the medical treatment and performed basic resuscitation on her. We continued the medical treatment and performed advanced resuscitation operations that included breathing, massages and medication administration. We transferred her while continuing to carry out CPR to the intensive care unit of MDA and evacuated her for further treatment in the hospital as her condition is critical.”
