Police arrested a 33-year-old woman at a Ga-Chuene voting station in Limpopo on Tuesday after a party agent’s cellphone recording of ballot envelopes disrupted the local government elections.
Cellphone Recording Disrupts Voting Feedback
Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the deputy presiding officer received a telephone call from her area manager requesting the day’s voting statistics at the Baptist Church voting station in Marulaneng during the Local Government Elections.
A party agent recorded the process on a cellphone without obtaining consent as the deputy presiding officer counted envelopes containing ballot papers, according to police.
