Outrageous. A woman reported to the Police that criminals are extorting her to pay a new loan (which she did not request) with absurd interests under threat.

This happened after the victim, whose name is being withheld for security reasons, requested (and paid) a first loan of 700 soles plus 200 soles in interest through the Lucky Coin application.

After paying the agreed 900 soles, the victim thought that the debt was settled, but it was not. A couple of days later she again received the amount of S/700 in said app, something she believed was done by mistake.

However, the poor woman couldn’t have been more deceived. The new loan had been deposited intentionally. She was able to confirm this by contacting the WhatsApp number registered in the app.

Talking with her future extortionists, the victim learned that in addition to returning the new amount transferred, she would have to pay 900 soles more for interest, which she flatly refused.

“Look, lady: what you are doing is going to harm yourself. I have your signature, your ID and where you accepted the terms and conditions. It’s your mistake, not mine. You entered the app yourself,” the thug threatened.

Faced with this and more threats, the lady notified the National Police of Peru so that they can take action on the matter, since she fears for her life and that of all her loved ones due to possible reprisals.
