Woman Discovers 86 Million Dollars in Bank Account, But Bank Quickly Blocks Account
A woman from Malaysia received the shock of a lifetime when she checked her bank account and discovered a balance of 86 million dollars that she did not have before. Hafidza Abdullah, the director and co-founder of a human resources company, opened her Maybank bank account app and found 404,040,404.04 Malaysian Ringgit, which is equivalent to about 86.46 million US dollars.
Abdullah shared a screenshot of her current balance on her LinkedIn account, jokingly asking if her followers thought she had won the lottery. However, the excitement was short-lived as the bank quickly realized the mistake and blocked her account without any prior notice.
While the amount was certainly impressive, especially in a country where the average household income is significantly lower, Abdullah was disappointed to learn that it was just a glitch. She sarcastically commented, “They say money can’t buy happiness, but Maybank knows how to buy frustration.”
Abdullah’s post quickly went viral, with many sharing their frustration with the bank’s poor service. In response, the customer manager of the Maybank Group promised to personally handle the issues that were brought to light.
