A 48 year old Australian He was lost in a forest in the state of Victoria, in southeast Australia, and survived five days in his vehicle with just a bottle of wine and some sweets, police sources reported this week.
In a statement, Victoria Police said the woman, identified as Lillian Ipwas on a trip to see her mother when her car got stuck in the mud in an area with no cell phone coverage and about 60 kilometers from the nearest town.
“I thought I was going to die”
According to what he told the media, the lost woman took a wrong turn when she was driving through the Mitta Mitta area and was trapped with only some lollipops, sweets and a bottle of wine that she was bringing to her mother as a gift.
Ip assured that she does not drink alcohol and that she had to drink the bottle to survive: “I thought I was going to die there (…). I was just sitting and thinking, ‘what am I going to do? How am I going to survive?'” he told the channel 9 News the woman, who even wrote a farewell letter to her relatives.
Found on the fifth day with a helicopter

Just two days after Ip’s discovery, Australian authorities in the Queensland region (northeast) reported that they found a 38-year-old woman who had been lost for eight days in a wooded area with only a one-liter bottle of water.
The missing person, identified as Rickki Mitchell, is “healthy” and was taken to a hospital to treat her for minor injuries and scratches.
According to the authorities, she survived thanks to the fact that she drank the water accumulated in puddles.
