Maria Cristina da Silva Garrido, 53 years old, who was shot dead by her own son inside a bar in the north of São Paulo, he had gone to the police to ask for a protective measure against him, which proves that the relationship between the two was already troubled. The information was confirmed by the SSP (Secretary of Public Security) when R7.
The TJ-SP (São Paulo Court of Justice), however, did not confirm whether the request was granted. “Processes involving protective measures are processed in secrecy of Justice,” he said in a note.
The victim was in a bar in Freguesia do Ó accompanied by her then husband, lawyer Vinícius Retek, when her son, Rafael Garrido, appeared and shot Maria Cristina. The lawyer tried to flee, but was chased by his stepson and shot at the bar door.
In consultation with TJ’s website, the report found that the woman already had relationship problems with her son since 2016, when she sued her ex-husband, Rafael’s father, for threatening. The woman reported in the process that her son was a drug user.
Acquaintances with the couple claim that the photo posted by Maria Cristina, with the location of where she was, may have helped the son to find her and commit the crime.
After the two murders, Rafael tried to flee, but was found about four hours later by the police.

After being captured, the man was taken to the 72nd DP (Vila Penteado), also in the north zone of São Paulo, and indicted for double qualified homicide, for a base reason and with no possibility of defense for the victims.
