This event, initiated by the European People’s Party (EPP) in partnership with the National Federation of Women of the RNI and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Foundation, brought together women leaders from Europe and Morocco who highlighted the importance of intercultural dialogue and North-South cooperation in the face of contemporary challenges.

The participants thus highlighted the convergence of visions for an inclusive and sustainable future, by addressing global issues such as the energy transition, the economic emancipation of women and intercontinental cooperation.

Speaking on this occasion, the president of the National Federation of Women RNIstesAmina Benkhadra, underlined the importance of this partnership between EPP Women and RNI Women, which reflects, according to her, “the spirit of solidarity” and “friendship” between two organizations, sharing common values.

She also highlighted the ambitious reforms undertaken under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, transforming Morocco into a model of sustainable development, with flagship initiatives in renewable energies, like the Noor solar complex. in Ouarzazate, and in industrial infrastructure.

For her part, Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, who spoke by video, affirmed that the education of women is essential to overcome the many barriers they face.

“By offering them access to quality training, we not only allow them to develop their personal potential, but also to actively contribute to society and the economy,” she said, recalling that this It gives them the tools necessary to break cycles of poverty, access professional opportunities and participate in political and social decision-making.

In the same vein, Ursula Von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, declared, via video, that women aspire to be recognized on an equal footing with men, thus claiming a fair and deserved place in all aspects of society.

“They are not asking for privileges, but for equal treatment, opportunities and respect. As women, we are ready to do everything possible to achieve this goal, whether through education, work or social and political commitment,” she observed.

She also called for a renewed dialogue to address climate, energy and economic issues, while encouraging the integration of women in decision-making processes.

This event, which takes place from September 25 to 29, will be marked by several discussion sessions around the themes of security and defense, climate and energy, as well as demography and the economy, with groups dedicated work to explore these issues in greater depth.
