Women’s Asia Cup Twenty20: India beat Bangladesh to semi-finals | IND beats BAN by 59 runs

Dhaka: Indian women defeated Bangladesh by 59 runs to secure the semifinals of the Women’s Asia Cup Twenty20. After winning the toss and choosing to bat, India scored 159 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Bangladesh could only score 100 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. The opening partnership of Shafali Verma (55 off 44 balls) and Smriti Mandana (47 off 38 balls) brought the Indian scoreboard to 96 when Jamima’s (35 not out from 24 balls) added firework and rose to 159. Rumana Ahmed took three wickets and Salma Khatun took one wicket for Bangladesh.

Nigar Sultana (36) and Fargana Haq (30) scored significant runs for Bangladesh. Deepti Sharma and Shafali Verma took two wickets each. India has also secured a semi berth with three wins.
