The third round at the top of the Women’s Basketball Premier League will take place on Thursday night and has created an interesting ranking picture at the top of the league table. Haifa’s foreign victory in Ashdod raised it to the top of the table, followed by Hapoel Rishon LeZion in second place.
After a streak of victories and being the hottest team in the league, Maccabi Ashdod lost to Haifa 74-66 and was stopped. Haifa came to Ashdod with positive energies and from the start of the game had an advantage ranging from 5 to 7 points mainly thanks to a good defensive game and impressive shooting ability in the first half by Bernice Mosby who finished the first 20 minutes with 17 points. In Ashdod, Kelsey Boon stood out until the break with 13 points.
The third quarter ended with a minimal Haifa advantage 48:50 and in the fourth and final quarter Haifa continued to maintain that it even reached ten points 56:66 (5:21 minutes to go).
Ashdod continued to show desire and motivation, but Haifa was more efficient and even increased to 66:74 until the end. It should be noted that in Haifa the points were divided between only four parking lots.
