Women’s Champions League: PSG-Wolfsburg and Lyon-Chelsea in the quarter-finals

This Friday noon took place the draw for the final table of the Women’s Champions League from Nyon (Switzerland), at the headquarters of UEFA. And PSG inherited Wolfsburg in the quarter-finals. Second in their group, the Parisians were sure to play a European cador. The German club are undefeated this season with 11 out of 11 league wins and only two draws in the Champions League.

The first leg will take place on March 21 or 22 at the Parc des Princes, the Women’s second outing this season in the lair of Porte d’Auteuil after the success against Real Madrid (2-1). Tickets have already been on sale for a few weeks. The return match will take place a week later, on March 29 or 30. Probably at the Volkswagen Arena, with 30,000 seats.

A pioneering club in women’s football in Europe, Wolfsburg has won European competition twice (2013, 2014) and had three finals (2016, 2018, 2020). Katarzyna Kiedrzynek, former goalkeeper of PSG, darling of the public, has been playing there for three seasons. The winner of the PSG-Wolfsburg clash will face the winner of the clash between Arsenal and Bayern Munich in the semi-finals.

The other French club involved, Olympique Lyonnais, will face Chelsea. The Blues have twice beaten PSG in the group stage (1-0 and 3-0). If they qualify, OL will face FC Barcelona or AS Roma in the semi-finals.
