by time news

While UEFA will announce the host country for the Women’s Euro in 2025 at the end of the year, the French Federation has announced the choice of twelve host cities, only a month and a half after declaring its candidacy. Among these cities, which will be reduced to ten in June in order to constitute eight official stadiums and two reserve ones, there are eight which had already hosted the Women’s World Cup in 2019.

Thus Valenciennes, Le Havre, Paris, Reims, Rennes, Lyon, Grenoble and Nice have been pre-selected. To these sites are added Lens, Metz, Nantes and Troyes. So far two other candidates have been expressed. That of Poland, and a Scandinavian candidacy with Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden.

On October 12, the candidates will have to submit their file to UEFA. She will have previously visited the various sites chosen by the countries during the months of April and May. The next edition of the Women’s Euro will take place this summer in England (July 6-31), with a final scheduled for Wembley, once again demonstrating the growing popularity of women’s football in Europe.

The quarter-finals of the Women’s Champions League this Tuesday and Wednesday will also take place in the same stadiums as the men’s football posters.
