Women’s Football: U20 National Team Qualifies for 2024 World Cup at Ethiopia’s Expense
Addis Ababa – The Moroccan U20 women’s football team has secured its ticket to the FIFA Women’s World Cup (Colombia-2024), despite its defeat (0-1) against its Ethiopian counterpart, Sunday at the Abebe Bikila stadium in Addis Ababa, in the return match of the fourth and final round of the African qualifiers for the World Cup in the category, scheduled from August 31 to September 22.
The national team secured qualification for the World Cup, thanks to its victory (2-0) against the same opponent in the first leg, played last Saturday at the El Abdi stadium in El Jadida.
This is the first qualification for the U20 women’s national team for a World Cup.
The Moroccan U20 women’s team qualified for the fourth and final round of the 2024 World Cup qualifiers, after beating Guinea with a total of 5 goals (first leg/second leg), while Ethiopia eliminated Mali.
