After several weeks of uncertainty and a fear of non-broadcasting of the competition in France, a solution was found a fortnight ago. France Télévisions and the M 6 group have obtained the rights to the next Women’s World Cup organized in Australia and New Zealand from July 20 to August 20. The invoice initially requested by Fifa, between 15 and 20 million euros, considered exorbitant with regard to the conditions of programming, was reduced to less than 10 million euros.

This Monday, the two chains specified the distribution of the matches. France Télévision will broadcast 32 matches of the competition, including the opening match and the final. “The awarding of the final was made by drawing lots” specifies France Télévisions. The eighth, quarter and semi-finals will be divided equally between the two broadcasters.

“We are proud to welcome the French women’s football team to our channels and to be able to contribute to its influence,” comments Laurent-Éric Le Lay, Sports Director of France TV, in a press release. We will offer a privileged exhibition to follow its next big meeting, the World Cup. »

The comments of the matches of the France team will be provided by Lucile Guillotin, and the former international Louisa Necib. The other matches will be commented alternately by Fabien Lévêque, Claude Eymard, Arnaud Mattéoli and Manu Tissier accompanied by Laëtitia Philippe, goalkeeper of Le Havre and Charlotte Lorgeré, professional player. Stéphane Lippert will be present on site for fieldside interviews during matches for the France team.

Group M 6 will also broadcast 32 matches, including 24 pool matches. It will broadcast the first match of the France team against Jamaica scheduled for Sunday July 23 (12 noon).

France-Brazil (July 29, 12 p.m.) and France-Panama (August 2, 12 p.m.) will be broadcast on France Télévisions.

In the event of qualification of the Bleues, M 6 will broadcast its possible 8th and semi-final, and France Télévision the quarters and the final with perhaps the Bleues of Hervé Renard.
