Women’s golf pioneer Shirley Spork dies aged 94

She was one of the pioneers of women’s golf, Shirley Spork has died at the age of 94, announces her entourage. In 1950, she signed with twelve other women the original charter of the LPGA which allowed women to play in professional competitions.

Twelve years later she reached second place in the championship, which will be one of the elements offering her a place in the prestigious LPGA Hall of Fame which she will join this year.
