Women’s IPL; Gujarat Giants will be led by Beth Mooney; Sneh Rana Vice Captain

Ahmedabad: Australian star Beth Mooney will lead Gujarat Giants in the first women’s IPL match starting from March 4. Indian player Sneh Rana is the vice-captain of the team.

Mooney is regarded as the number one batsman in women’s cricket. When Australia lifted the T20 world title for the sixth time, it was Mooney who shouldered the team in a one-man fight in the final. In the final, the player remained unbeaten with 74 runs off 53 balls. Beth Mooney was also Man of the Match in the final.

Reacting to the announcement, Mooney said that she was delighted to be chosen to lead the Gujarat Giants in the historic women’s IPL. She also stated that it will be a wonderful experience to have Sneh Rana as the vice-captain and to be able to work with Mithali Raj among others.
