Women’s ODI World Cup: Yastika Bhatti scores a half-century, India’s better score against Bangladesh

WELLINGTON: India outscored India in the semi-finals of the Women’s ODI World Cup. India won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 229 for seven in 50 overs. Yastika Bhatti (50) is India’s top scorer with a half century. Ritu Moni took three wickets for Bangladesh.

Captain Mithali Raj, who won the toss and elected to bat, confirmed the decision. Shafali Verma and Smriti Manthana put on 74 for the opening wicket in 15 overs. However, after Nahida Akhtar dismissed Smriti for 30, India lost the wickets of Shafali Verma (42) and skipper Mithali Raj (0) for the same score.

Mithali, who hit a half-century in the last match against Australia, was dismissed for the first ball of the innings. Later, Harmanpreet Kaur and Bhatia crossed the 100 mark, but Harmanpreet (14) was run out for 108.
