Auckland: The 12th World Cup women’s cricket tournament is being held in New Zealand. 8 teams are participating in this tournament. Each team must face the other team once. The teams that finish in the top 4 in terms of points at the end of the league will advance to the semi-finals.
The 19th league game of the series took place yesterday in Auckland. The New Zealand-England teams clashed. The England team that won the ‘Toss’ chose to bowl.
New Zealand, who played first, were bowled out for 203 in 48.5 overs. Maddie Green top-scored with 52 (not out), while Captain Shopin Devin scored 41. Cathy Cross, Jobin took 3 wickets each and Charlene Dean took 2 wickets.
England won by 204 runs. The team lost 4 wickets (26.4 overs) before scoring 106 runs. Captain Heather Knight was out for 42. Thus the match turned to the New Zealand side. However, Sofia, who played better, changed the course of the game with 33 runs and Knot Sever 61 runs. England scored 204 for 9 in 47.2 overs. England won by one wicket in this thrilling match.
This is the 2nd victory of the England team. New Zealand suffered their 4th defeat. Knot Sever was selected as the best player of the tournament.
