Nintendo Switch Holiday Game Deals at Woot
Note: Woot recently made a change to its Nintendo Switch game listings. The retailer no longer discloses whether you are getting a north American release or an imported game. All Nintendo Switch games are region-free, and every game in the list above is playable in English. That said, this is important to consider for games with DLC, such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. If you do not get a North American version and want the DLC, you will need to purchase that content from the eShop matching your game. So if you get a UK game, you need to download DLC from the UK eShop, which requires making a separate Nintendo account. Not many games in the list above—or nintendo games in general—have DLC,but this is worth keeping in mind.
A trio of Mario platformers have received big discounts: Super Mario Odyssey and new Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe are $40 each, while Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is $42. At the moment, Super Mario Party Jamboree is sold out at Woot, but you can get the other two entries for Switch, Super Mario Party and Mario Party Superstars, for $40 each. The recently released Mario & Luigi: Brothership is $50, and the rarely discounted Paper Mario: The Origami King is $42. You can also get Mario Golf: Super Rush for $40 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for $38.
Eight Pokemon games are on sale, including three pairs of mainline entries: Scarlet and Violet for $42 each, Sword ($42) and Shield ($40), and Let’s Go, Eevee ($40) and Pikachu ($42). The Let’s Go games are adorable remakes of pokemon Yellow with streamlined mechanics inspired by Pokemon Go. You can also snag Pokemon Legends: Arceus for $45 ahead of the release of its sequel, Pokemon Legends: Z-A, next year. The remake of the first Pokemon mystery Dungeon game has received a rare discount, too; Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX is only $42, and this is a great pick for younger players who aren’t interested in turn-based Pokemon games just yet.
Several other rarely discounted Switch games are up for grabs for great prices. The stellar action-platformer Metroid Dread is $42, Bayonetta 3 is only $30, and the physical edition of the first bayonetta game is down to $35. the Dragon Quest I-III Collection featuring the first three mainline games is available for $42. This collection only released in Asia, but it can be played in English. To be clear, this collection includes the enhanced versions that released on mobile and PC, not the new HD-2D Remake of Dragon Quest 3.
Bethesda’s recently released Doom Anthology, which comes with six games, a steelbook case, and a five-inch replica of the iconic BFG gun, is discounted to $55 (was $80). Speaking of Bethesda, Skyrim’s for Switch is on sale for $45. This is admittedly quite pricey for Skyrim in 2024,but the Switch port isn’t discounted often.
Super Mario Gift Idea
If you’re shopping for a Super Mario fan,you can get them a pretty cool gift from Walmart right now. The retailer has restocked the Collectible Steelbook version of The Super Mario Bros. Movie on 4K Blu-ray for only $28. This edition launched in June 2023 and, outside of a few briefly available restocks, has been sold out as then. Walmart is also taking preorders for an exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook of the Mario Movie on 4K Blu-ray for $28. What are the best Nintendo Switch game deals available this holiday season?
Interview: Exploring the Hottest Holiday Deals on Nintendo Switch Games
editor (Time.news): Welcome to Time.news! Today, we have a special guest, Sarah Linton, a gaming expert and analyst who has closely followed the Nintendo Switch landscape. With the holiday season in full swing and discounts popping up everywhere, we’re thrilled to dive into the latest deals available on Woot for Nintendo Switch games. Thanks for joining us, Sarah!
Sarah Linton: Thank you for having me! It’s an exciting time for gamers, especially with Christmas just around the corner.
Editor: Absolutely! Let’s kick things off. Woot has made quite a splash with their selection of Nintendo Switch games lately. Can you tell us what makes their current offerings stand out?
Sarah: Definitely! woot has really expanded their selection, showcasing over 45 title deals, many of which are exclusives published by Nintendo. It’s extraordinary to see discounts of $20 or more, especially for popular franchises like Mario, Pokémon, and Zelda. The variety they have right now is arguably the largest we’ve seen, which is great for gamers looking to snag gifts or enhance their own collections.
Editor: You mentioned exclusives—can you highlight some must-have games that are part of this deal?
Sarah: Of course! Key titles include “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe,” “Animal Crossing: New Horizons,” and “Metroid Dread.” If you’re looking for something with that classic Nintendo charm, you can’t go wrong with Mario games. The presence of Pokémon games in this lineup is also significant, offering both new entries and fan favorites at a lower price.
Editor: That’s a solid list! Now, it’s worth noting that Woot has made a change regarding the openness of their game listings. Could you elaborate on the implications of this?
Sarah: Sure! Woot no longer specifies whether the games are North American releases or imports. While all Nintendo Switch games are region-free and playable in English, this can affect downloadable content (DLC). For players who want the DLC—like what’s available for games such as “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe”—it’s critical to pay attention to the version you receive. If you end up with a UK version, for example, you’d need to access the UK eShop to purchase any add-ons, which can complicate things.
Editor: That’s a key point for gamers who may not be aware! As we move closer to the big day, do you have any tips for savvy shoppers looking to take advantage of these deals?
Sarah: Absolutely! First, consider making a list of games you want ahead of time. This not only saves you from impulse buys but ensures you won’t miss out on any titles that might sell out quickly. Additionally, if you’re an Amazon Prime member, leverage that with Woot—your orders will arrive in a few days, which is especially handy right now. keep an eye on customer reviews and descriptions to ensure that you’re making an informed choice, especially regarding potential import issues.
Editor: Those are some great insights, Sarah! Before we wrap up, do you think these deals will last past Christmas, or is this more of a limited-time holiday offer?
Sarah: while we can’t predict the future, typically, retailers push hard for sales leading up to Christmas. After the holiday season, we might see fewer deals or different selections. So, I’d say if you see something you love, snatch it up now rather than waiting until after the holidays!
Editor: Wise advice! Thank you so much for sharing your expertise with us today, Sarah. It’s clear that Woot’s holiday game deals are a treasure trove for any Nintendo Switch fan.
Sarah: Thank you for having me! Happy gaming and holiday shopping to everyone!
Editor: And to our readers, be sure to check out Woot’s extensive list of Nintendo Switch games on sale while supplies last.Don’t miss out on the chance to enhance your gaming experience this festive season!
