The Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López Hernández, reiterated the willingness of the Government of Mexico to work in an institutional, coordinated and respectful manner with the National Electoral Institute (INE) and with all those who participate in the organization of the elections.
López Hernández, who is one of the presidential candidates for Morena heading to the 2024 elections, pointed out that the instruction of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador is to put institutionality first and join efforts to strengthen democracy.

“Reiterate the disposition of the Federal Government, that is the instruction that the President of the Republic has given us, to work, always put the institutional framework first and work in a coordinated manner, respectful of each and every one of you, with all those who make up the National Electoral Institute, with all those who make up the local bodies, with all those who participate in the organization of the elections”, he emphasized.

When meeting this Tuesday with the General Council of the National Electoral Institute (INE), chaired by Guadalupe Taddei, councilors and the governors of Coahuila and the State of Mexico, Miguel Ángel Riquelme and Alfredo del Mazo Maza; López Hernández said that it is time to show Mexicans “that you and we are capable of building institutional continuity and that there is a will for a new attitude.”

“And serve, then, this event to ratify the will of each and every one of us who are present here and who intervene in one way or another in, some in the organization of the electoral process, others generating legal and security conditions so that Mexicans, and in this case the inhabitants of Coahuila and the State of Mexico, can go vote on June 4, rest assured that we all did our homework,” he emphasized.
