BOLZANO. Tim accelerate on optic fiber in South Tyrol and across FiberCopthe Group’s infrastructure company, is giving impetus to the cabling interventions envisaged by the “Italy 1 Giga Plan” as part of the Pnrr to bring “ultrabroadband” connections into 102 municipalities in the province. The objective is to connect over 9,200 house numbers located in the areas identified by the tender with optical fibre.
The temporary business grouping made up of Tim and FiberCop was awarded seven lots of the “Piano Italia 1 Giga” tender for a total of 10 regions, plus the provinces of Trento and Bolzano. The investment in Alto Adige is part of the broader program of interventions envisaged by the lot 15 of the tender which also includes the province of Trento, with a total value of approximately 98 million euros of which 65 million of public contribution through Pnrr funds and approximately 33 by the Tim Group.
To date, work has already started in eight municipalities, while the completion of the plan is expected by June 2026.
