At the end of July, the State Information System Authority (RIA) successfully took over the second stage of the mobile application for the state portal Eesti.ee from its contractual partner Net Group, and now the security testing period for the application, BNS reports.
“We are working every day to ensure that by the end of 2024, all residents of Estonia will be able to use the standard services of the state portal eesti.ee in a mobile application format. The cooperation with Net Group, the winner of the mini competition, ended when the work was accepted, and now we will start testing the security of the application. Starting from the fall, everyone will be able to test the Eesti.ee application and give feedback to the development team,” Kai Kallas, head of the personal state department at RIA, explained to BNS the further development of the mobile application project.
According to Kallas, about 50 services will be added to the Eesti.ee mobile app this year, and more will come over time, for example, next year the focus will be on business services. “For users, the most practical services in the application are, for example, hazard warnings, a data tracking service and solutions, drug prescriptions, notifications from the government mailbox and notifications about landscape problems,” explained Kallas.
The eesti.ee application is an additional presentation layer to the eesti.ee state portal on everyone’s mobile phone, allowing them to find the most important government services in one place.
