Worker dies in landslide during drainage construction in Bahrain: many injured

Manama: One person died in a landslide during drainage construction in Bahrain. Many people were injured. The accident happened last night on Road 26 in Al Luzi. As soon as the information was received, emergency teams reached the spot.

The accident took place at the site of a drainage project being constructed in Karzakan to drain away rainwater. The workers were trapped due to landslides. A worker who fell under the ground was rescued and shifted to the hospital. He could not save the life of someone who was with him. The Home Ministry said several workers were injured in the landslide. Civil defense and ambulance teams rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to hospitals. The Ministry of Interior of Bahrain said that an investigation has been started and all necessary measures have been taken. The ministry expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased worker.

Considering the emergency situation, the pilot decided to land at the nearest airport. After that, permission was sought for an emergency landing at Irbil International Airport in Iraq.
