Worker goes missing after clearing well; Search continues | Death | Kollam

Kundara (Kollam) മ്പോൾ While cleaning the well and returning, the worker fell into a ditch and disappeared. Gireesh Kumar (47) went missing at Ezhukon Irumbanangad Kochuthundil house. The accident took place around 5.30 pm on Wednesday while cleaning a private well near Perinad Velliman High School.

The contractor, Hari, a native of Velliman, took over the job. The two started cleaning the well around 1.30 pm. After draining the water and cleaning the well, Girish climbed back up and the bottom of the well collapsed. At around 6 pm, two fire brigade units arrived and tried to clear the soil but were unsuccessful.

Then at 8 pm, bulldozers were brought in and started digging the sides of the well. Two JCBs and two small Hitachi are on the rescue.
