Manawala Nagar: Murthy son Mani, 46, hails from Ondikuppam area, next to Manawala Nagar, Kadambathur union, Venkathur panchayat.
He was working on contract basis in a private company in Pungathur and had been working in a private company in Paparambakkam for five months.
He is survived by his wife Sumitra, 39, and two daughters. The day before yesterday, he went to work in the morning and was seriously injured when the iron stairs fell on him while he was working in the factory.
Subsequently, he was admitted to a private hospital. The doctor who examined him there declared him dead. After his wife Sumitra filed a complaint, the Manawala Nagar police registered a case and are investigating.
