Global e-commerce giant Alibaba organized a workshop on cross-border e-commerce business and exports for local manufacturers and entrepreneurs to distribute their products globally. The workshop titled ‘Trading Beyond Border’ was organized at the Krishibid Institute in the capital on Saturday (March 9).

Alibaba’s Bangladesh channel partner Skytech Solutions and E-Commerce Association Bangladesh organized this workshop. 250 e-commerce entrepreneurs and manufacturers participated in this workshop.

This workshop started at 10 am today. Saidur Rahman, Director of E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (E-CAB) gave a welcome speech at the beginning of the program. He discussed opportunities for domestic e-commerce entrepreneurs to export their products abroad and bring remittances and cross-border e-commerce policy.

Then Skytech’s Head of Digital Marketing Kamrul Hasan discussed about local to global business expansion. He discussed the comparison of the country’s market and the international market, the steps to export products and the things required for export – marketing, logistic support, company registration etc. He shares the success stories of some entrepreneurs who have succeeded in exporting their products to Alibaba, eBay and Amazon. At the end of this session, he answered various questions of the entrepreneurs in the question and answer session.

In the next session, Faisal Dolan discussed the processes of starting a business through Alibaba. He spoke about the benefits of being a member of Alibaba, how to open an account or store in Alibaba, how to create a store front, how to upload products, how to manage a store, how to find buyers and how to get orders.

Then Alibaba’s Business Manager (Bangladesh) Nasri Ma spoke as the keynote speaker. In the beginning, he talked about the platforms of various sister concerns of Alibaba – Alibaba, Taobao, Alipay, Timol. Then he told about the opportunity to expand business through Business to Business (Btubi) through Alibaba.

Musnad A. Ahmed, CEO of Skytech Solutions, the authorized channel partner of Alibaba in Bangladesh, gave the concluding speech of the workshop. He announced that more workshops and one-to-one sessions will be held in series with the workshop participants who wish to export their products through Alibaba.
