The American team affiliated with the American Novak Society began a workshop on performing surgical operations on children and newborns, at the Zliten Medical Center.
The Therapeutic Services Support and Development Service stated in a post on Facebook that the team performed the first operation on a child suffering from a hole in the wall of the ventricles.
The workshop will continue until the end of this April, and the team aims to perform 40 operations at a rate of 3 operations per day, in the presence of Libyan doctors to train them in these delicate operations.
This initiative comes within the Return to Life project to localize treatment, with the aim of providing health care to patients at home and reducing the need to search for treatment outside the country.
