KUWAIT CITY: In Kuwait, authorities are continuing to investigate vehicle-related violations. Last day, officials visited various workshops and garages in Jahra. The General Traffic Division conducted the investigation in collaboration with government agencies such as the Residency Affairs Investigation General Department and the Department of Counterfeiting and Forgery Crimes.
A total of 540 traffic violations were found during the last day’s inspection. Five vehicles were seized. Meanwhile, two vehicles have been impounded for causing noise. 336 warning stickers were also put up for parking obstructing the public road. A workshop selling silencers that emit excessive noise from vehicles was raided and immediately shut down by the authorities. Electricity connection of 42 workshops and garages which violated the law was disconnected. The officials also stated that the inspections will continue in the country.
In Kuwait, action has been taken against the installation of silencers that emit excessive noise in vehicles. Officials said it is illegal to modify vehicles to make loud noises. A warning has also been given that action will be taken against the workshops that violate such rules and against the companies that supply the equipment.
The officials of the Kuwait Department of Transport discussed this with the Ministry of Commerce. The talks were led by Major General Jamal Al Sayegh, Assistant Under-Secretary for Traffic Operations Affairs in the Ministry of Interior and Mohammad Mikhlif Al-Ansi, Acting Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce. The meeting decided to take strict action against the increasing noise pollution.
