Kyiv: Yaroslav Mahuchyk represented Ukraine by winning a silver medal in the high jump at the World Athletics Championships. Other countries are hailing Yaroslava for bringing medal success to a country torn apart by foreign occupation.
The match took place on Tuesday night. Australian star Eleanor Patterson won the gold medal in high jump. Italy’s Elena Vallortigara was awarded bronze. Twenty-year-old Yaroslava Mahuchyk won the medal with a jump of 2.02 meters (6 ft 7.5 in). Hayward Field in America is the venue for the World Athletics Championships.
