Under the leadership of His Majesty the King, Morocco has launched a series of major projects that have made it possible to significantly reduce the poverty rate, accelerate electrification and increase life expectancy, Mr. Banga said in a message on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Sovereign’s accession to the Throne of His glorious ancestors.
The head of the Washington-based international financial institution also praised the leadership and commitment of His Majesty the King to improving the standard of living of citizens, while stressing that the New Development Model, launched by the Sovereign, is able to contribute to boosting employment and strengthening the inclusiveness of Moroccan society.
He also highlighted the resilience and strength shown by the Moroccan people in the face of the adversity of the Covid-19 pandemic and the Al Haouz earthquake, noting that these life lessons remain a source of inspiration.
Furthermore, the President of the World Bank Group welcomed the long-standing partnership between the international financial institution and Morocco, recalling that the two parties celebrated the 65th anniversary of this cooperative relationship during the Annual Meetings of the Bank and the International Monetary Fund that the Kingdom hosted last October in Marrakech.
He also expressed the World Bank’s commitment to supporting the Kingdom in the “next stage” of the development process underway, in line with the avant-garde vision of His Majesty the King.
