Azzedine Ounahi (SCO Angers), Youssef En-Nesyri (FC Seville), Nayef Aguerd (West Ham) and Reda Tagnaouti (Wydad Casablanca) have all passed through this leading sports and educational centre, inaugurated on 28 March 2010 in Sala Al Jadida by HM King Mohammed VI.

Created to develop football training in Morocco, the Academy has now established itself as a breeding ground for young talents who attract the interest of European clubs.

In recent years, several young players from the Mohammed VI Football Academy have distinguished themselves on national and international football fields, reflecting the quality training provided by the Academy.

The colossal efforts made within the Academy since its inauguration are beginning to bear fruit, to the point that this sports structure now provides top-level players to the national team.

Among the four graduates of the Mohammed VI Football Academy in the national team, Nayef Aguerd, Youssef En-Nesyri, and Azzedine Ounahi, are three undisputed starters in Walid Regragui’s Eleven, who have been lighting up the Qatari sky with their impressive performances since the start of the World Cup.

In defense, attack and midfield, these players prove every time they step on the pitch that they have benefited from high-level training.

Equipped with experienced training managers and infrastructure that meets international standards, the Academy allows beneficiaries to succeed in a career as a professional footballer, alongside their studies, according to a sports-study program, in order to facilitate their social integration at the end of their training.

The aim is to enable young players to optimise their footballing potential and develop their performance within the framework of a system combining sport and studies.

This system aims to give young talents aged 12 to 18 the opportunity to have a football career or, where appropriate, to continue their schooling normally in other establishments.

The Academy thus aims to contribute to the identification and training of future high-level footballers.

To do this, this benchmark sports and educational structure, built on a plot of land with an area of 18 hectares, is made up of different centres, including a medical-sports centre which includes football pitches that comply with FIFA quality standards, a weight room, a medical office, and a physiotherapy unit, an educational centre with classrooms, as well as language and computer learning rooms, in addition to an accommodation centre.

The Academy has a team of technicians and teachers to provide supervision and training to young students, as well as medical staff.

Illustrating the high solicitude of HM the King and the special and permanent attention with which the Sovereign has continued to surround the sports sector in general and football in particular, the Mohammed VI Football Academy, which welcomed its first class in September 2009, continues to train generations of talented players who honor the colors of Morocco on a national and international scale.

This sports and educational center, which has high-quality infrastructure, confirms the very good level of Moroccan football training and is part of a virtuous dynamic of development of national football at all levels.
