World Cup: already a mural in honor of Messi in Buenos Aires

by time news

It didn’t take long to see the first mural in honor of the new world champions in Argentina. Just four days after the Albiceleste’s victory over France in the World Cup final (3-3, 4-2 on pens), a mural depicting Lionel Messi lifting the trophy appeared on a wall in Buenos Aires .

About 6 meters high and 5 meters wide, there is also goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, who does not fail to make people talk about him with his provocations towards the players of the France team, as well as Paulo Dybala and Rodrigo from Paul. In addition to the trophy, Lionel Messi wears the “bisht”, a traditional Qatari black and gold coat, a mark of honor and appreciation, which was placed on his shoulders during the post-match ceremony.

Maximiliano Bagnasco, author of this fresco, said: “It’s my way of saying thank you. It is also a gift for people. Football for Argentines is always a joy, and allows us to get through difficult times better. We saw Argentina united with millions of people in the streets… We are world champions! It is not his first attempt. The 39-year-old artist had already produced a giant fresco 40 meters high representing Diego Maradona, the other “God” of Argentine football, on a building in Canning, in the southern suburbs of Buenos Aires.

This first work should be the first of a long line. In Argentina, the walls of buildings abound with frescoes, with two areas as favorite themes that touch the hearts of the vast majority of the population: football and the Falkland Islands.
