After its surprising 2:1 loss against the Saudi Arabian national team, the Argentine national team took the field this evening (last night) in the World Cup in Qatar, against the Mexican national team, with the aim of proving that this stumble was a one-off.
After a scoreless first half, Argentina managed to defeat Mexico 2:0 in the second half.
In the 64th minute, the Argentine star Leo Messi managed to score an important goal against Mexico. If that wasn’t enough, Enzo Fernandez sealed the Argentinian victory with a goal in the 87th minute.
Following this victory, Argentina rose to second place in their home table. Argentina’s next obstacle will be Poland who are placed at the top of the house after a decisive victory over Saudi Arabia. If she doesn’t win there, she could get into trouble and depend on Mexico’s decision against Saudi Arabia.
